Under Windows 2000. shortly after Windows has started up, a window pops up containing the subject error message.
I close the window and everything is OK, but I'd like to know how to get rid of this message.
I believe that an earlier virus scan or spyware scan deleted the wisys16 dll, but did not delete a command stored somewhere that tries to run the dll.
I've checked various startup folders and can't find anything.
Can someone give me some further advice as to what other places (where to look) that might contain the rundll command that tries to load the subject dll.
Thanks in advance.
Sam.
Error loading c:\WINDOWS\system 32\wisys16-071229.dll ) RUNDLL.?
Try using autoruns from Microsoft, you can check each startup entries, and determine what program loads wisys.dll, and disable or remove it.
Reply:Find out what your providers ip address is and the in the address bar type cmd and hit enter. you will have a black screen appear and a cursor will be flashing in it. type you IP's address they give you in here and then hit enter. You will be able to log on and that annoying black screen will disappear. By the way when you start windows a black box will come on the screen but it will go away in a second or two. It is just recognizing your settings. If I understand this if not type cmd.config.then enter If you have any problems give me a call an I will help all I can. My number is 602-760-7549.
Good Luck Woody
