Does anyone know how to remove C:\windows\sqlserver.dll?

Its malware name is Win 32: Maha.c [Trojan} or Kbroy-A. Shuts down my firewall and some programmes run a lot slower. Have tried Trojan Remover and Avast picks it up but even after deleting it turns up again next time computer is started

Does anyone know how to remove C:\windows\sqlserver.dll?
Sohos has a removal tool for it. Go to http://www.sophos.com/support/disinfecti... and follow the directions for your OS. IT does require downloading a file from their site and creating a recovery cd.
Reply:you need to do a google search to get the manual removal instructions, to know the file names, and the registry keys created by it. Then

-disable system restore (for ME and XP)

-boot in safe mode

-run virus scan, delete anything found

-manually delete the exe, dll, and other files mentioned in the writeup

-manually remove keys from the registry

-boot normally

-enable system restore

(this is the standard procedure you need to follow when you are dealing with a trojan or a worm)

Once you are through the above process, then run system file checker, it will automatically replace infected system files like the sqlserver.dll that you mentioned
