C:\windows\system32\rjjvtovr.d... the heck is this??

This is what my computer tells me everytime I restart. It says something about it not being found..I forgot to write that part down, sorry. i have been running a lot of anti-virus/anti spyware stuff, and quarantining/removing stuff that they tell me is harmful. Could one of them have deleted something thats not really bad? help please. (The programs I have used are AVG, SuperAntiSpyware, Ad-Aware, TrojanRemover)

C:\windows\system32\rjjvtovr.d... the heck is this??
I think Liz has a pretty good theory but she said to type 'mscoinfig'... this is a spelling mistake, its meant to be 'msconfig' - microsoft configuration utility
Reply:System32 errors could be the result of problems within the windows registry of your computer. RegCure uses the most sophisticated technology available to analyze your registry for missing, obsolete, and corrupt entries. RegCure fixes computer errors

Reply:sounds like a spam for me..scan ur pc in safe mode with the software you got agains spyware and trojans
Reply:search for the .dll name in google, you might get an indication what program it's for. Programs install their .dll's into this folder, so it's not necessarily a bad thing.
Reply:I can't find any reference to this file while doing a Yahoo! search. Because most Windows filenames have been scrutinized at one time or another as possible malware files, this absence is suspicious.

If you've done a recent virus scan and it caught something, this could be a leftover. I take it you just click the OK button and your system runs right after that?

If so, you may be able to get rid of the phony message by going into msconfig and keeping the file from starting up. Here's how:

1. Click on the Start-%26gt;Run menu item.

2. In the Run text box, type in msconfig, then press Enter.

3. In MsConfig, click the Startup tab.

4. See if there's an entry for that filename. If there is, clear the checkbox next to its name.

5. Click OK.

6. Accept the reboot option.

Hopefully, the message won't come up on the next reboot. You will, however, get a message about your configuration having changed. In fact, if you just click OK, you'll get this message after every reboot, however, if you click the checkbox and click OK, the message won't come up again unless and until you make another msconfig change.

Good luck.
Reply:Well, possible yes... likely no.

When you are dealing with a random jumble of letters in system32, you are dealing with malware...

Chances are one of your tools removed something that was BAD, but that it was tied to a startup file, so when the system starts, it can't find what it's looking for...

Do this:

START %26gt; RUN . type "mscoinfig" (no quotes)

Choose the "services" tab

click the "hide all microsoft processes" button.

Disable EVERYTHING else except AVG.

Now go to the "Startup" tab, and disable EVERYTHING.

Reboot your computer, and see if the problem is gone!

If it is, you can bring things back in one at a time until the problem comes back, then you will know what the problem is, and you can eliminate it.

*** yes yes... msconfig, not coinfig...
