"C:\WINDOWS\system32\wowfx.dll... How do I fix this?

I had a Trojan infection on my computer yesterday and I got rid of it by running Spysweeper in safe mode. But I keep getting this "Bad Image" message pop up every few seconds, and I can't stop it. I also still keep getting windows pop ups for antispyware every few minutes, when I don't need it. I keep getting redirected to advertising site a lot. Another thing is that I cannot access my control panel or anything of the sort. A message will come up saying that administrator has restricted access to that area. If anyone knows how to help with this sort of thing, I'd much appreciate it.

Try running smitfraud removal tool:

Then re boot %26amp; run Spysweeper in safe mode without internet.

cannot access my control panel - more than likely a virus - re boot in safe mode with internet %26amp; do a free online scan:

http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

This scan removes what it finds for free.

Reply:i have the same problem to i have to click ok to get into a program
Reply:Antivirus software will not be able to remove this. If possible, run a system restore. If not, you will either have to remove it manually or wipe your system and reinstall the OS.

"wowfx.dll gets rewritten by some process every few seconds (if not EVERY second). So, it's impossible to deal with unless you use the Recovery Console.

Using the recovery console delete wowfx.dll and create another file or folder with the same name in that same folder

c:\windows\system32), which will block it for being re-created..."

Then run hijackThis and see if there are any suspicious registry entries, and use that or regedit to remove them.

Good luck!
