Rundll error at startup: Error loading c:\windows\system32\ykdybpug.d...

Spent the weekend cleaning up Trojan viruses downloaded from a gaming website (*sigh* love my teenage son but...yeah). Seems to be all clear, no more irritating adware/spyware popups and scans clean. (Cleaned with AVG)

The only obvious error remaining is the above at startup. Any ideas? Google %26amp; Microsoft searches do not recognize the above file name.

Rundll error at startup: Error loading c:\windows\system32\ykdybpug.d...
Since you say your machine is clean, I suggest you take a look in MSCONFIG and see if that DLL is being called up at startup. Here's how:

1. Click on Start-%26gt;Run, and enter msconfig in the text box.

2. In msconfig, go to the Startup tab.

3. Look for that dll's name. If you find it, deselect the checkbox.

4. Click OK.

5. Reboot your machine and see if the problem went away.

You'll also get a nudge message box about your change every reboot until you click the checkbox.
Reply:It's the RUN.DLL file which is used by visual basic programs. ~

You need that and it was probably ruined by the malware.

The other file name you show is NOT a proper system file
