Any and ALL files in Windows, Windows\subfolders are none of your business.

If you doubt me, try deleting some of 'em.

Actually they are files used by the Windows operating system and/or registry.

You have no need to know what they're for (probably).

The only time I can think of for you to place a file in the Windows or Windows\System folder is when you have a file (screensaver) to put where it belongs is in one of those two.

PS: The filename ends in .scr

;-)
Reply:.dll*? I'm 95% sure thats a virus because programs just shouldn't put any files in that dir. and that file is not one that would come on any windows installation.

Yea... you would not want to delete it, just in case it is something important, but chances are it isn't because anything important can be found by searching the file name on Google or w/e.

And just because its in the windows dir doesn't mean its exempt from being anything else, most viruses plant a file there because almost no one will ever delete a file from that folder.
Reply:its a library. unless you are absolutely sure it's a virus don't touch it. even if it is a virus use your virus removal program to remove it.
